As sibling musicians growing up in Chippenham, Ewan and Callum Merrett had differing taste with Callum engrossed in the soul, pop and RnB of Michael Jackson and Ewan more of a fan of hip-hop.
Inspired by the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim v The World the pair were inspired to merge their musical tastes and form a band.
As they began writing songs, they found that they each had their individual aspects to add; Ewan was the musical wunderkind while Callum had a knack for earworm hooks and visual pizzazz.
The result was musical gold in the form of their debut album Living Alone, a hip-quaking mix of Jungle, Beck, Metronomy and 70s disco.
Named the Guardian’s Band of the Week in November 2016, they’ve also been on the BBC’s radar as one to watch.
