THE FAMILY PLAYGROUND
Festival fun isn’t just for grown-ups at OnBlackheath, and we’re putting together two days of music, games and other performances just for our younger visitors.
Already lined up are roving professional musicians the Boppin’ Bunnies, who regularly sell out their interactive events across Blackheath, Greenwich and the South East, and the Flying Seagulls, who take their belief that everyone deserves a chance to laugh to hospitals, orphanages, refugee camps and other places where the marginalised can be found.
Let’s All Dance will be bringing their love of movement and music to The Family Playground, and there will be Pop Bingo, Shipwreck Playground, storytelling, circus skills and much, much more.
Adventures and stories
We’ll be encouraging younger visitors to get out and explore, encountering some interesting stories along the way with special appearances from family favourites and some intriguing and involving entertainment brought to the festival by some of the best in the business.
If you need an outlet for your creative spark then the Kids Crafting Tent will be the place to head and who knows, your younger family members might walk out in a brand new outfit – perhaps as a princess or a pirate. We’ll also have all the festival favourites you might expect including face painting, an interactive colouring wall and plenty to get kids back to nature.
Village Green Sports Day
We’ll be revisiting the classic fun of a Village Green Sports Day with egg-and-spoon races, three-legged races and that old favourite tug-of-war.
